A is feeling really down these days, having just lost his mom. He said that he wanted to die. J heard him and said, “I was in your spot last year. You can ask these ladies. I was on the streets and living out of my backpack and I had a heroin habit big enough to feed a horse. But look at me now. I’m clean, I’m going to school, I have a place to live and I’m doing good. You can do all of that, too. You can do it.” It was perfect timing that J came in to visit us and say hi and spread some hope to A. I love when it works out that way. We loved on A a little more than usual today. He wants to belong and feel like he’s a part of something and we love having him around. Oh, and he loves using the sewing machine to make pillows.
