The Conrail tracks in Kensington are cleared out, Ascension Church is boarded up, and every other place that provides shelter to people in active addiction gets broken down and “cleaned up” once the media reports on it. So people are “living” and using right out in the open in the neighborhood. Mattresses on sidewalks, needles all over, belongings shoved in trashbags and hopelessness in plain view. Nothing has improved – it’s worse than before. What did the city think would happen? I don’t know what the answer is, but I know this isn’t it. How do we let this happen to people? How do we change it? What more can we do? Are you doing your part?
